The Hurricane That Wasn't

It was predicted to be one of the biggest storms that the East Coast had ever seen. Thankfully, Hurricane Joaquin, which was supposed to hit the Virginia Beach area the weekend of October 3rd, 2015, headed out to sea and we were left with just a lot of rain. But that's not always the case.
Hurricanes happen in the USA a lot. In Japan they call them “Typhoons”. But they're both the same thing. Both are made overseas which start to be a tropical storm, but as the more warm moisture comes, it grows into a hurricane. Then, wind bring this giant spiral to land where it makes high winds and lots of rain for a few days, then weakens because there is no water to support it. But even in those few days, it can cause a lot of damage, and impact people’s lives.
There is no way to stop this storm, or is there? One way is to drop a nuke in the eye of the hurricane, but think of all the damage it will do, worse than a hurricane. And if we drop while it is still in the water, it will just fall in the water and not effect it. OK, maybe we can’t destroy a Hurricane, but maybe there is a way to protect us.
Maybe if we build an underground train where we will be evacuated without going through the hurricane we will have a lower chance of us dying. But think of all the money it will cost. And bugs and other creatures could destroy the transportation we need to get away.
Hurricanes can destroy our Earth and we can't just evacuate Earth. 50% of the cause of all this bad weather is because of us. All of this pollution causes a warmer atmosphere which is easier for hurricanes to be made. And if we do evacuate earth, where would we go? This home is our home, and we need to keep it clean.
