The Respect Ripple Effect

In December, 8th grade students were asked to write about how a respect ripple effect would change our school.

Have you ever seen a ripple in water?  One single movement in the water could start huge ripples.  So we decided, if we could spread respect, it'll eventually have a huge impact.  It could be simple things like holding the door for someone, saying thank you for almost everything. Little things like that could really change a person's point of view.  You might even make someone's day better, just with one simple act of respect.  So go ahead and do something respectful.  You might be surprised what the results could be.

Have you heard of something called "The Respect Ripple Effect"?  It may be familiar to others or not since it involves the word respect.  The Respect Ripple Effect is when a person spreads respect to others and the respect spreads throughout everywhere.  You know when there's a puddle of water and when you touch it, ripples appear right?  Of course, but this corresponds with respect.  Our school needs to have the Respect Ripple Effect throughout the whole building so that people can be nice to one another.  The act of respect can affect people to also respect others so that people can help spread the respect of an individual to a large group.  This means no hurting or other rude actions to others because it that happens, that respect is all gone like breaking a link connected to the chain to not be together as one whole.
